Henryetta saw a $6,000 gain in sales tax receipts in March of this year compared to a year ago.
The monthly check from the Oklahoma Tax Commission was $212,934.91 for business in January. A year ago that amounted to $208,441.80.
So far this fiscal year from July 1, 2014 to March, 2015, the city has received $1,919,784. During the same period from July 1, 2013 to March 2014, the city received $1,920,543, a difference of $758.
By contrast, the city's use tax receipts are running slightly ahead of the prior fiscal year's total. With the $9,665.72 received in March, Henryetta has received $97,093.45 in use tax money compared to $94,865.74 during the same time a year ago. That is a $2,227.71 gain.
The March sales tax check to Okmulgee County amounted to $274,529.76, an increase of $2,774.95 from a year ago.
Statewide, $130,181,462 in sales tax collections was returned to 513 cities and
towns reflecting an increase of $6,717,511 from the $123,463,951 distributed to 510 cities
and towns in March last year.
