A 29-year-old Henryetta man, Edward Douglas Jacome, was arrested Tuesday afternoon following a standoff at a home east of Dewar.
edward jacombJacome had barricaded himself inside the house just south of US 266 on Bartlett Road for nearly three hours.
Nearly 50 Oklahoma Highway Patrol and SWAT officers, along with county deputies and local police surrounded the house despite a cold, driving rain that soaked the area.
Officers would not use tear gas or pepper spray to get Jacome out of the house because a female and child were said to be in the building with him.  He was believed to be armed.
Once he was taken into custody, Jacome had to be treated at an Okmulgee hospital for injuries sustained from one of the dogs used by the OHP.
He was booked into the Okmulgee County jail on complaints of assault or battery with a dangerous weapon, kidnapping and tampering with a security surveillance camera.
During the standoff, Dewar schools were locked down for over an hour and US 266 traffic was detoured around the scene.

Jacome has had several similar assault charges filed against him in the past six years.road closed
