A Henryetta man was arrested Tuesday morning on charges of attempted kidnapping.
dooleyPolice say a woman parked her car at a convenience store in Henryetta and went inside to make a purchase. When she returned, the individual was said to have been in the back seat.
He is alleged to have grabbed her by the throat and told her to take him to another gas station. She was able to stop the vehicle and the suspect ran away.
He was captured a few blocks away on West Division and taken into custody without incident.
“People need to be aware of their surroundings even in a town like Henryetta,” said police chief Steve Norman. “Even if you are going to be just a couple of minutes, take your keys with you and lock your doors.”
Police say  23-year-old Dackota Lee Dooley was arrested and booked into the Okmulgee County jail on a charge of kidnapping.
