Marjorie "Margie" Coleman a lifelong resident of Henryetta, died Jan. 09, 2014 in Henryetta at the age of 90. She was born Sept. 12, 1923 in Bryant to Walter William West and Dena (Wickersham) West.
She married Alvin "Red" Coleman in September of 1939 in Hanna and they were the parents of four daughters.
Margie was very civic oriented and was the past President of the Rebekah Lodge, she was a past Lion's Club member, and she was the first Lady County Commissioner for Okmulgee county. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Henryetta and was a charter member of the Rural Water District #5 Board as well as a member of the Cattleman's Association.
Marjorie is survived by her four daughters: Gala Sue Lay and husband Bob of Tulsa, Linda Kay Shaver and husband Vince of Greenville, Texas, Patricia Lynn Justiss and husband Ron of Little Elm, Texas, and Katherine Ann \"Kathy\" Jones and husband Gary of Coweta; eight grandchildren, Susan Hern and husband Kevin of Plano, Texas, John Shaver of Greenville, Kevin Shaver and wife Kristy of Saint Mary's, Georgia, Mary Beth Stanhouse and husband Mike of Greenville, Brian Bales and wife Shelley of Sulphur Springs, Texas, Lori Roman and husband Ted of Norman, Brandon Jones of Miami and Angela DeMoss and husband Rick of Broken Arrow; 14 great grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Kizer of Ames, Iowa, as well as other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Integrity Funeral Service,
and from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday. Family will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, January 12, 2014.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday, January 13, 2014 at Integrity Chapel (410 East Trudgeon St.) in Henryetta with Rev. Rick Harrison, officiating. Interment will follow at Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
