truck crash

A pile of twisted metal, broken trees and muddy tracks are all that is left of a semi that crashed on US 75 just east of the glass plant Friday evening. The truck went out of control and slid down the embankment of the old railroad overpass coming to rest in the middle of a grove of trees. Workers were forced to cut down a number of trees and build a roadway to the semi in order to pull it out. The driver sustained only minor injuries but much of the shipment of corn meal was damaged in the accident. The accident closed one lane of the northbound section of US 75 for over six hours.
