Henryetta first grade students helped celebrate a 143-year-old tradition Friday when they took part in Arbor Day.
The students and their teachers planted several redbud trees around the grade school building.
Arbor Day in America started April 10, 1872 in Nebraska. Since then, it has become a tradition throughout the country for students and organizations to add trees to the environment.
