A man alleged to have been brandishing a firearm at another driver was arrested in Okmulgee Wednesday afternoon.
Eric Nightingale was booked into the Okmulgee County jail for driving under the influence, possession of a firearm while intoxicated and feloniously pointing a firearm.
The arrest was made around 2:30 in Okmulgee after a report was sent out stating the driver of a Black GMC was going north on US 75 when the driver brandished a gun at another motorists.
The vehicle was spotted by Okmulgee police and county deputies at 13th and Wood. Officers stopped the vehicle at Hayes and Wood Drive and took Nightingale.
Police chief Joe Prentice said Nightingale initially resisted attempts to get his hands in sight of the officers. A search of the vehicle reveled a number of firearms. No one was said to have been injured in the incident.
Nightingale told officers he was from Kansas but the vehicle he was driving had Texas license plates.
