The Henryetta high school boys who will receive their diplomas Friday night were urged to make the most of their lives.
James Williams, head of the Muscogee Creek Nation Environmental Services, told the boys to stay in touch with each other and their families once they start their careers.
Speaking at the annual senior boys lunch at the Methodist church Wednesday, Williams told the group not to be afraid of failure. “Failure is a lesson. It is lessons learned.”
He said a Harvard University study followed graduates for 50 years and found those successful graduates were the ones who maintained relationships with friends and family members.
“There are some things you can’t get back. You can’t get time back, you can’t get back words that you didn’t mean to say and you can’t get relationships back if you don’t create them.”
He pointed out that there were a lot of people who helped get the seniors to this point in their lives.
