The annual property tax sale will be held June 8 according to Okmulgee County treasurer Vonna Lampkins.
She said about 163 pieces of property throughout the county will be auctioned off at the court house at 9 a.m. The sale will be in the treasurer's office.
"These properties are four years behind in their tax payments," she said. "Some of the properties may have houses and buildings while others are open land."
Property owners of the delinquent properties can still pay the back taxes up to the time the resale deed is filed with the Okmulgee County Clerk.
A list of the properties is available in the treasurer's office for a cost of $20.  The list contains the situs address, weed assessments, and the starting bid that will be against the property. Lampkins said the starting bid could change by sale date due to additional costs.
Anyone wishing to purchases the delinquent tax properties must pay with cash or certified checks. "  Personal checks will not be accepted unless a letter of credit from your  financial institution is attached. Successful bidders must pay the taxes due and any additional cost included at time of sale."
Anyone wishing more information about the sale should call the Okmulgee County Treasurer's office at 918-756-3848.
