vfw memorial talk

Vietnam veteran and former Okmulgee County resident Thomas Payne met with members of the Henryetta VFW and auxiliary Tuesday night about his proposed memorial to fallen veterans.
Payne has been working on the project that would see a granite monument placed on the Okmulgee County court house lawn bearing the names of all service members who were killed in action from World War I to the present time.
That memorial is projected to cost between $60,000 to $65,000 and he was asking the post members to help publicize the project.
