The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is still investigating the cause of an accident on I-40 that injured a person walking along the highway.
According to the OHP, the individual was walking on the interstate about four miles east of Henryetta shortly before 6 Wednesday evening. He was struck by a 2015 Volvo semi driven by Jianping Xiao that was eastbound.
The highway was closed for a short time to allow an Air Evac helicopter land and take the victim to St. John hospital in Tulsa for treatment of injuries to his head and body. The victim was admitted to the hospital in stable condition.
Authorities are not releasing the name of the injured pedestrian pending notification of next of kin.
