The Lady Knights split their fast pitch season opening doubleheader Monday night with a 9-1 win over Okmulgee followed by a 6-2 loss to Stroud.
In the opener, the Lady Knights fired up the offense in the first inning, when Bailey Worlow scored on a stolen base during Kasedi Gobin's at bat. Then Gobin doubled then scored on a pop fly by Autumn Blackbear. A pop fly by Kalie Hamric put Blackbear in scoring position then Katelyn Dwiggins scored.
In the bottom of the third, Dwiggins scored on a Skylar Morris double then Morris scored with a line drive by Jaylynn Joslin.
Two more runs for the Lady Knights came in the bottom of the fourth wth Worlow crossing home after a Gobin double. Gobin would score on a Dwiggins line drive out to left field.
Okmulgee picked up the lone run for the Lady Bulldogs on a top of the fifth fly RBI.
The Lady Knights had nine hits during the game with Dwiggins, Gobin, and Joslin all had multiple hits for Henryetta Knights Varsity. Joslin, Gobin, and Dwiggins all had two hits to lead Henryetta Knights Varsity.
In the nightcap with Stroud, the Lady Knights fell behind by two runs in the first but narrowed that gap in the third when Joslin scored on a single by Avery Miller in the bottom of the third. That scenario would repeat in the bottom of the fifth with Miller getting a double to right scoring Joslin.
Stroud came back with four runs in the fifth that the Lady Knights could not overcome.
Miller was in the pitcher's circle for Henryetta giving up six runs on 11 hits over seven innings, striking out eight and walking one.
The Lady Knights had ten hits during the game. Miller, Jalynn Joslin, and Bailee Worlow each managed multiple hits for Henryetta Knights Varsity. Miller led Henryetta Knights Varsity with three hits in four at bats
