George Franklin Agee, a former Henryettan, died July 31, 2019 in Sapulpa at the age of 89. He was born May 3, 1930 in Wewoka to Benjamin Clarence and Elsie Elizabeth (Lowery) Agee. George graduated from Henryetta High School in 1948 and married his classmate and love of his life, Berna Dean (Brookey) Agee on July 14, 1950. George was drafted into the Army on February 13, 1952 where he served for two years and honorably discharged on February 4, 1954. George attended Okmulgee Tech where he received his certificate in 1956. He was a construction and equipment field engineer and draftsman with various oil companies.
He was preceded in death by his parents and loving wife of 67 years, Berna Dean Agee; brothers Bill Agee, Harvey and Tilford England, and sister Cleo Hasell.
He is is survived by two sons: George Michael and wife Jeanette Agee of Cleveland and Mark Edward Agee of Mannford; three grandchildren: Benjamin Agee of Tulsa, Joel Agee and partner Maki of Fukuoka, Japan and Scott and wife Sarah Agee of Tulsa; two great grandchildren: Clive and Lorna Agee; his brother Phil (Bud) and wife Diana of Henryetta; sister Dixie and husband John Hutchinson of Overland Park, Kansas, as well as many other relatives and longtime friends.
Funeral services were officiated by Chaplain Randy Shaddox at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2019 at Beaver Street Baptist Church in Jenks. Interment was in the Resthaven Cemetery in Sperry.
