For the second year the H.O.T.T. off-road trails will be used for safety training.
At the Tuesday city council meeting, mayor Jennifer Munholland said the Can-Am motorcycle company will be bringing in their off-road vehicles to train dealers.
“They did it last year and liked the H.O.T.T. trails because it has the rocks, sand and water they are looking for,” she said. The training session will result in the trails being closed to the public for two days, Nov. 7 and 8.can am
Council members approved temporarily giving Ron Casey oversight of all city departments. Casey, who is the public works director, will be filling in for interim city manager/city clerk Donna White. She is in the process of recovering from back surgery last week.
“We need Ron to sign off on thinks to keep the city running smoothly,” Munholland said.
In other business, council members approved a resolution authorizing an application to receive grants from the Rural Economic Action Plan (REAP) fund.
“This is something we have done before. We have applied for grants and it doesn’t cost the city anything,” the mayor said.
