After trailing through the first four innings against Dewey Thursday night, the Henryetta Lady Knights were able to tie up the score but could not get ahead in the second game of regionals.
Dewey put a run on the board in the second inning then added three more on a homer in the third. The Dewey Bulldoggers had a solo homer and four RBIs in the fifth to gain a 9-0 upper hand.
Henryetta came back scoring all nine HHS runs in the fifth.
Avery Miller doubled to left scoring Jaylynn Joslin then Kasedi Gobin scored on a single by Brooklyn Baughman. A double by Autumn Blackbear brought Miller and Baughman home followed by a single by Katelyn Dwiggins single scoring Skylar Morris. Dwiggins would add run number six with a wild pitch then Hamric, Lexi Lollis and Joslin would score on a fielder’s choice by Miller.
A two run homer by Dewey in the sixth and RBI single broke the tie putting the Bulldoggers ahead 12-9.
The final run for Dewey came in the top of the seventh with a single to right scoring the number two Dewey batter.
Henryetta picked up 17 hits in that game scoring nine runs with eight RBIS. Avery Miller pitched all seven innings allowing 17 hits and striking out eight. She would walk four Dewey batters during the evening.
That put the Lady Knights into their game against the Valliant Lady Bulldogs on Friday. Valliant defeated Westville to stay alive int he tournament after Dewey won their contest earlier in the day.
