November retail sales in Henryetta were better than the year before. That is the report from the Oklahoma Tax Commission with the January sales tax distribution.
Henryetta received a check for $268,365.41, a $16,726 increase over the same month a year ago.
The city of Okmulgee also had an increase of $25,681 above the $517,992 for the same period last year.
Around the area, the Weleetka sales tax distribution was down $1,300 while the Okemah check had a $10,702 increase to $108,344. The city of Morris received $17,842, a drop of $6,420. Dewar also showed a decline, down $943 from the $10,288 last year.
Henryetta’s use tax return was slightly ahead with $25,835 this year compared to $24,839 last year.
Statewide, the $159,991,371 in sales tax collections returned to the cities and towns reflected a decrease of $4,572,058 in January of 2019.
