Henryetta senior Autumn Blackbear has been named as an All State softball team member.
blackbearBlackbear, the daughter of Farrell and Twyla Blackbear, was responsible for 24 home runs in two seasons of slow pitch softball. She had 20 last year and four homers in seven games of the shortened season this spring.
She picked up 16 hits out of 22 times at bat getting 19 RBIs with a .727 batting average. Last spring, Blackbear went to the plate 113 times netting 20 home runs with 62 hits and 64 RBIs. She put 47 runs on the board for HHS in that season. On defense, she played first base for the Lady Knights.
“We had a couple of girls that we would put our money on when they were up to bat with runners on and the game on the line and Autumn was definitely one of them,” said softball coach Ryan Swallow. “She had tons of power and was as solid as they come at first base. I couldn't be more proud to have another AllStater here in back to back years after Lauren Lee last year.
“Autumn is definitely going to be a hard one to replace next year. She will he missed.”
