Henryetta will be cruising and roping next month.
Chamber of Commerce board of directors unanimously decided to go ahead with the annual Jim Shoulders Spring Roundup Rodeo June 5 and 6 and Cruise Knight June 13.
There had been concern about the COVID19 impact on the two events but board members felt since both events are out of doors there will be apple opportunity for people to social distance.
A recent poll conducted on Thehenryettan.com Online Newspaper Facebook page showed a majority of participants wanted both activities to continue.
The rodeo will start at 8 p.m. both Friday and Saturday evenings at the Jim Shoulders arena at Nichols Park.
Cruise Knight will take place along Main Street again with the two outside lanes blocked off from Third to Seventh Street to allow people to park their vehicles.
Police chief Steve Norman asked that anyone wishing to hold fundraisers restrict themselves to the sidewalks.
“Last year we had a couple of groups that, although well-intentioned, were getting out into the areas designated for vehicle parking and nearly causing some accidents.”
More about the performance schedules for both events will be released in the coming days.
