The annual Henryetta Labor Day pageant is going to be held this year but some changes have been made due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year the pageant is going to be held in The Briefcase, 413 West Main Aug. 22. In the past the event has been at the school auditorium but uncertainty over school policies due to the pandemic forced the move.
Pageant coordinator Shannon Frair said the change of venue and smaller space is going to limit the number of spectators to five per contestant. It will start at 7 p.m. but a dress rehearsal will be held Aug. 21.
The baby portion of the pageant is not going to be held this year due to the virus threat. “We felt like due to the recent spike in COVID-19 cases in our area for the safety of our little ones we opted to cancel the baby portion of our pageant. Hopefully that will only be for this year,” Frair said.
Entry forms are available at the Henryetta Chamber of Commerce office and through Friar. They can also be downloaded from Thehenryettan.com website HERE. {phocadownload view=file|id=56|target=s}
