Bealko will be filling out the nearly three years remaining on the term left by the late Ron mcAfee. He was sworn in by HEDA president Keith Estes. At the same time, Bruce Jones began his first full five-year term on the authority.During the September meeting, Kanon and Kade Bailey told of their plans to build a four-unit building at 708 East Main.
The two are members of the family that owns and operates the Big Dollar Pawn in Okmulgee. They said the project in Henryetta would provide four, 1,000 square feet retail spaces as well as parking for up to 30 cars.
They asked help from HEDA amounting to $20,000 to build a stem wall and elevate the building above the flood plane. The projected cost for the building construction was said to be between $350,000 and $400,000.
HEDA members told the two to meet with Henryetta city code officer Jody Agee and get their plans and engineering specifications then return to HEDA for further discussions.
