Motorists along SH 266 just east of Dewar will see some significant changes in the highway next year.
Construction is underway to move the existing roadbed as well as one bridge and straighten out several curves.
Dirt work started late last month and will continue through late next fall according to the contract awarded to Becco Contractors from Tulsa.
When finished, drivers will have a road surface that will include widened shoulders and be crossing a new bridge.
The project will cost $5.118 million and was let late this past summer. It will tie into the already widened roadway that connects to the new bridge across the Deep Fork River.
