Gladys M. Arnold was born May 12, 1931 in Baxter Springs, Kansas to the late Tony and Mamie Klimek. She died Sept. 6, 2021 in Okmulgee at 90 years of age. Gladys attended Wilson School and graduated from Bryant High School. She married Charlie Arnold in April of 1949. She was a faithful and longtime member of Crosstown Pentecostal Holiness Church and later was a member of the Nuyaka Baptist Church for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Sylvia Shelton and Maxine Holt, two brothers, Paul Klimek and Neal Klimek, a daughter, Peggy Herrin and a great grandson, Nathan Arnold.
Survivors include her two sons, Jim Arnold and wife Kathy and Andy Arnold and wife Brenda; two brothers, Kenneth Klimek and wife Mary Nell and Johnny Klimek and wife Sandy; a sister, Marilyn Counterman; seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Friends may visit the funeral home on Thursday from 12 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Nuyaka Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the Wilson Salt Creek Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Assisted Living at the Okmulgee Baptist Village.
