A six-hour manhunt involving five law enforcement agencies resulted in an arrest Tuesday.
One man was arrested near the Chevrolet dealership north of Okmulgee around 9 p.m.
The manhunt started after a person was said to have been shoplifting from the Walmart in Okmulgee. The man ran from the store then jumped into a white pickup and drove away.
That sparked a short chase through town before the vehicle crashed into a fence. The suspect ran off into a wooded area near the Department of Human Services office.
Police set up a perimeter then started hunting the fugitive. Lawmen from the Okmulgee police department, Creek Nation Light Horse, Sheriff's office, Henryetta police and a Tulsa police helicopter were involved in the search.
The arrest came after several hours of searching.
