A manhunt involving some nine law enforcement agencies Tuesday resulted in the arrest of Aaron Dale Ballard.
The 34-year-old Ballard was one of two people being sought following a vehicle chase through Okmulgee that ended with a crash near the Okmulgee airport. When the pickup the two fugitives were in crashed, both ran into a heavily wooded area.
County sheriff Eddy Rice said Ballard is believed to have a connection with Ronald Thomas, jr., who escaped from the Jackie Brannon Correctional Center in McAlester the day before.
Ballard was apprehended when he came out of the wooded area near a car dealership.
He was booked into the Okmulgee County jail on complaints of felony eluding, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm after a former conviction of a felony.
Thomas is still being sought and is believed to have gone to the Sapulpa area.

That arrest was followed Wednesday morning with one man arrested on multiple charges.
William Clyde Smith, 28, was arrested by Sheriff's deputies following a chase between Bixby and Hectorville.
Rice said officers were acting on a tip regarding a stolen pickup and trailer in the area of North 310 Rd and Ferguson Rd. in northern Okmulgee County.
"Deputies tried to stop the vehicle near Ferguson Road and Bixby Road," Rice said. The driver was alleged to have continued going north at a high rate of speed.
The chase ended when the truck drove into a field then Smith was said to have tried to run away.
He was booked into the county jail on charges of felony eluding, possession of stolen vehicle, possession of controlled dangerous substance - paraphernalia and child endangerment. When he was arrested, Smith was also wearing an ankle monitor from the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.
Law enforcement agencies who were involved in the manhunt Tuesday included: Okmulgee Police Department, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Tulsa Police Department Air Division, Muscogee (Creek) Nation Lighthorse Tribal Police Department, Henryetta Police Department, District Attorney's Task Force 25, U.S. Marshalls, Oklahoma Department of Corrections and the Okmulgee County Emergency Management.
