Veterans will be the focus of attention for Congressman Markwayne Mullin this next week.
Mullin has scheduled a 60-minute telephone town hall meeting Monday at 7 p.m.
During the first 30 minutes of the hour-long call, Mullin will be joined by the director of the Muskogee VA Regional Office and the chief of staff at the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center in Muskogee to answer questions regarding veterans’ issues.
During the second half of the call, participants will be able to ask Mullin questions regarding issues facing the nation.

Anyone wishing to participate in the telephone town hall meeting can do so from the convenience of their home or cellular phone. They need to call 1-877-229-8493 then enter the participant code: 111439.
When a caller dials in and enters the participant code, they are automatically placed on hold and muted. Once the call begins, Mullin will provide instructions on how to get into the queue to ask a question.
Next Friday, Mullin will be in Okmulgee at 10 a.m. as part of a three-town "Veterans Information Days" sessions.
All area veterans are encouraged to attend the meeting at the Okmulgee Community Center at 12-1 W. Seventh in Okmulgee.
“There has been a great deal of confusion over the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ new Choice Program,” said Mullin. “The VA will be bringing representatives to each of our Veteran Information Days locations to talk about Choice Program eligibility and other criteria.”
Additionally, Mullin will speak to participants and answer questions.
Ensuring area veterans know about all of the services available to them in their community and region is another goal of the second-annual event hosted by Mullin.
“Oklahoma is blessed because there are many groups that want to help our veterans,” Mullin said. “We are bringing many resources together under one roof so veterans and their family members can easily learn about the services available in their own community and the region.”
Caseworkers from Mullin’s congressional offices will also be on hand for any veteran or military family that is having problems with a federal agency.
From Okmulgee he will be going to Claremore that afternoon then to Hugo on July 20.
