This Saturday is going to be an exciting time for all ages in Henryetta.
The Hallmark Henryetta Christmas festival will be held starting at 4 p.m., with hours of fun and holiday treats.
Organizers Valerie Mosco and Kelly Dobson said the park south of city hall will have over 30 vendors, live carolers Santa Claus and more.
"We want this to be something the town will enjoy and talk about for years," Mosco said.
She said there will be over 30 vendors on hand with everything from holiday gift ideas to homemade crafts and even fudge and hot cocoa.
Adding to the evening will be a live nativity scene complete with camel and a reading from the Bible.
She said there will be refreshments including a food truck and even a warming station so visitors can knock off some of the chill.
Santa will be on hand following the parade to take requests and will pose for pictures with the youngsters.
For the children who want to write out those gift requests there will be a place for them to be dropped off. Two of those letters will be selected before the night is over to give away two bicycles courtesy of Walmart.
A break in the festivities will be held at 6 for the annual Henryetta Christmas parade. The entries will start at 8th Street and go east to Fourth where they will turn down fourth to the park.
Once the parade is over, everyone is invited to be at the park for a special Christmas tree lighting ceremony. That will take place at 7:30 p.m.
The Grinch will be on hand to grab up some of the visitors and place them in his specially constructed jail. They can pay a small free to bond out or even pay a bounty to have a friend join them.
"We have so much planned," Mosco said, "and it is because so many people helped make this possible. This is an example of how we can make Henryetta a better place by pulling together."
