The city of Henryetta is now on the Internet.
This month, the new city website, cityofhenryetta.org, went live.
This is the first time in over four years the city has been available across the World Wide Web. Even though the website is still being populated with information, there is a lot there to help local and potential residents.
Links on the website include lists of the city fees, agendas and meeting minutes. There is even a link that brings up a 460-page document containing all of the city codes.
A complete list of the various traffic fines is also available.
With the new website, a person can apply for any posted job openings, learn about the various departments and meet their city council members.
Work is still going on to enable residents to pay their water bills online.
A major feature of the website is the, "Notify Me" section.
Through it residents can be sent an email or text message regarding road closings, water outages or weather alerts.
That requires registration and takes only a couple of minutes.
There are links on the city website for the library, chamber of commerce, Henryetta schools and Thehenryettan.com.
"I'm extremely excited and proud of our city," said mayor Jennifer Clason.
"We are all working as a team now watching the quality of life improvements with pride in our community taking over."
She pointed out the new website, "will allow others to see a glimpse of what we have to be proud of while keeping local citizens informed."
Police chief Steve Norman was singled out for praise for his efforts in adding information to the website.
