City councilman Bill Goodner has withdrawn his resignation from the council.
In an email sent to thehenryettan.com and others Tuesday afternoon, Goodner said he has had, "a number of conversations with family, friends, and fellow council members and have decided that the proper thing for me to do is to remain as a member of the city council." Goodner submitted his resignation in June citing health and family issues.
He was elected two years ago to the councilman at large seat and served as mayor until this past April.
Current mayor Jennifer Clason said he was happy he decided to stay on the council.
"Bill has been very instrumental in the direction our city is going and I am thankful he has decided to continue to be part of the future of this city with us," she added.
Council members had been looking for a replacement to fill out Goodner's unexpired term but no one had been selected.
