An Okmulgee man pled guilty to two counts of second degree murder in federal court this week.
Austin Dean McMahan, 24, was charged with the April 7, 2020 murder of a man and a woman people at a house in Okmulgee.
Because McMahan is a member of a federally recognized Indian tribe and the crimes occurred in the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, the case was heard in the Eastern District court in Muskogee.
The charges are punishable by up to life in prison a fine up to $250,000 or both.
A pre-sentence investigation will be held before the final sentence is levied.
