Congressman Markwayne Mullin (OK-02) today announced the third annual essay forum focusing on the importance of our U.S. Constitution.
“I look forward to reading the thoughtful and well-written responses from the students in the Second District,” Mullin said, adding that information on the essay forum has been mailed to schools throughout the district. Rules, forum questions and entry forms are also available on his website: www.mullin.house.gov.
“I hope everyone will take time to read and learn more about our Constitution,” Mullin noted. “As citizens of this great nation, it is our responsibility to be knowledgeable about our rights and understand the role of government in our lives.”
The essay forum is open to middle school (6th-8th grade) and high school (9th-12th grade) students from the Second District. Public, private and homeschool students are invited to submit an essay answering this year’s forum question.  All entries are due by 4:30 p.m. on September 18, 2015.
Three winners from both the middle school and high school groups will be selected by an independent panel of judges. Mullin encouraged anyone with questions to contact the Muskogee district office at (918) 687-2533.
