pitchingEven though the first time on the softball field was not what the HHS Lady Knights wanted, coach Sherry Freeman said she is not overly disappointed.
The girls lost a 10-1 contest to Checotah, with the visitors picking up those runs in the first inning.
"Nerves got us early," Freeman said, "but I'm seeing improvement every day. We have a lot to work on."
The lone run came in the first when leadoff batter Kendall Perez scored on an RBI. The Lady Knights had three more get on in the next four innings but were unable to tie in the hits to score them.
This Friday and Saturday, Henryetta will be hosting a five-team festival.
The Lady Knights start off the festival at 10 a.m. when they play Canadian. At 2:30 that afternoon, the game will feature Henryetta against Wetumka.
On Saturday, Henryetta plays Mounds at 11:30 then ends the series with Wilburton at 4 p.m.
Henryetta's game will be streamed live both days at www.citylinktv.com/channel/henryetta-tv-news.
