gary clasonThe Henryetta Economic Development Authority (HEDA) is looking for another member this week.
Long-time member Gary Clason resigned his position Monday after it was pointed out there could be a conflict of interest since his wife, Jennifer is serving on the city council.
Clason, has been a HEDA member since July, 2010. He had just been reappointed to another five-year term on the authority.
"I, Gary Clason must resign from the HEDA board effective immediately. If I can be of any help in the future please let me know," he said in a two-sentence resignation letter emailed to HEDA secretary Roy Madden.
"Even with my leaving the HEDA board, I feel confident the city will continue to move forward and progress into a better city," he said.
HEDA members were already looking for a replacement for Mike Meeks who tendered his resignation last month. Another opening on the board came about this week with the city council resignation of Henry Koelzer. He had been the council's representative.
