4 h logoAn effort to organize a 4-H club in Henryetta will be held Aug. 27.
Brooke Smith wants to get the youth-oriented program going in Henryetta. It would be the first time that a club would be formed here.
Smith is working with the OSU County Extension office to get the club going. She will be holding an ice cream social at Nichols Park for parents and children to learn more about the program.
It is going to be held at the south shelter house and everyone is encouraged to attend regardless of where they attend school.
The 4-H program started in 1902 and today offers youth opportunities in communications, leadership, career development, livestock, home improvement and computer technology.
