Henryetta football fans got to see action for the first time Friday night as the Knights held their first scrimmage.
The HHS team went to Keifer for a four-way series against Keifer, Victory and Hulbert giving the Knights their first taste of action.
"I was pleased with the effort," said coach Darin Johnson. "We were a little short-handed but the kids worked hard and filled in where they were needed."
He went on to point out the team, "has some work to do but I'm confident that these young men will do their very best to be ready when our season opens."
Henryetta has another scrimmage Friday night at Beggs. The regular football season starts Sept. 4 with a trip to Morris. A second road trip will be held Sept. 11 then the Knights come home to host Stigler.
