Eula Grace Oleva Hastey died Aug. 27, 2015 in Morris at the age of 91. She was born Dec. 14, 1923 in Ryal to Thomas Smith and Willa Marie (Dodd) Watson.
Eula married Phillip Dale Hastey in Okemah Sept. 5, 1943. She moved to Morris from the Ryal area in 1947. Eula was a member of the Home Extension Club and a model homemaker - her hobbies included arts and crafts, cooking, furniture upholstery, and being a seamstress. She was a member of the Flower Club, as well as a 4H Leader, and an active member of the Cornerstone Seventh Day Christian Church.
Eula is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Valdeva Roberts, Loueva Hammack, Lewis Watson, Homer Watson, Ralph Watson, and Clifford Watson.
Left to cherish Eula's memory are her daughter, Glenda Shockley and husband Jim of Morris, son Ronnie Hastey and wife Mary of Henryetta, daughter Phyllis Murphy and husband Orvel of Okmulgee, grandchildren, Lacy Legall and husband Thierry of Skiatook, Stephen Nelson of Okmulgee, Sharolyn Cunningham of Austin, Texas, Rex Hastey and Stacy of Henryetta, Ronda Allred and husband James of Henryetta, Reed Hastey and wife Amber of Bixby and Jimmie Shockley and wife Maylena of Morris, four great grandchildren and her brother, CLaude Watson and wife Jane of Modesto, Calif.
A funeral service for Eula will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel of Okmulgee, with Pastor Guy Marley officiating. Interment will follow at the Hastey Family Cemetery.
Serving as casketbearers will be Rex Hastey, Stephen Nelson, Jimmie Shockley, Reed Hastey, Scott Nelson, and James Allred. Friends may visit the funeral home on Monday, Aug. 31, from 12:00 to 8 p.m., with the family receiving visitors from 5 until 7 p.m. Charitable contributions may be made in Eula's memory to Little Lighthouse.
