Residents of Okmulgee County have until Friday, Jan 16 to register to vote in the February 10, 2015 annual school and Okmulgee municipal election.
County election board secretary Ava Ridgeway said anyone wishing to register can do so at her office at the court house or through the state election board website. "Registered voters may apply for an absentee ballot through Wednesday, Feb. 4. They may do so in person at the county election board office or send their applications by mail, fax or email. The application can be downloaded from the State Election Board web site www.ok.gov/elections or picked up in our office."
Absentee ballots, for those voters who have already have an application on file with the election board, are now being mailed out for the February election.  "If you have applied for an absentee ballot and do not receive it in the next few days, please give us a call."
Voters may also vote early in-person at the Okmulgee County election board office on Thursday and Friday, Feb. 5 and 6, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. On election day, voters will vote at their precinct.
