Kanon Bailey was the winner of the Hasty Bake grill at a drawing Monday afternoon.Bailey, a Henryetta Middle School student and member of the tennis team, is shown with Stan Swyden after the winning ticket was drawn before a crowd of about 50 people.
The drawing culminated a three-month fund-raising effort that brought in over $5,000. Monies from the ticket sales will be used for upgrades to the nearly-completed tennis courts on West Main.
Contractors are expected to be in town later this week to put a new playing surface on the tennis courts. That will complete a three-month rehabilitation which included a completely new playing surface, new fencing and backboard.
