A short opening kickoff followed by a pair of penalties set the stage for Stigler to start a scoring run that resulted in a 62-16 loss for the Knights Friday night.
Stigler pushed the ball down to the Henryetta one yard line then scored the opening touchdown of the night. The PAT kick was good putting the Panthers ahead 7-0.
Playing their first game before a hometown crowd, the Knights were able to gain a short lead in the first quarter but that was the last time to pay dirt until the third stanza.

Sophomore running back Avery Moore put all the Henryetta fans on their feet when he took the handoff from Bo Adams for a 94-yard touchdown run in the first five minutes of the opening quarter. Adams looped a pass out to Alan Hargis for two points giving Henryetta the lead. He scored the second and final TD of the night in the opening minutes of the third quarter on a short 10-yard run. This time, Brannon Murphy caught the PAT pass in the corner of the end zone for another 8 points.
moore td runBy the time the game ended, Moore would chalk up 132 yards in a dozen carries. The Knights would have 196 yards on the ground compared with 320 for the Panthers.
The Panthers were able to push into Henryetta territory five times in the first half, all resulting in touchdowns. One of those came from an interception on the Knight 30. The Panthers returned a 76-yard third quarter kickoff to make it 49-16 then chalked up one more TD in the third and another in the fourth for the win.
HHS junior Blake VanMeter carried the ball 14 times for the Knights, picking up 79 yards while Adams was able to get 14. One of those carries set the stage for the second Knight touchdown when he put the ball on the Panther 14.
The henryetta passing game resulted in six completions out of 19 tries for 68 yards. The Panthers intercepted three of those throws. Stigler tried to throw the ball 18 times with eight completions for 127 yards.
This Friday, Henryetta will be hosting Chandler.
