Henryetta Voters to Decide on No Tax Increase School Bond on February 10

HENRYETTA, OKLAHOMA — On Tuesday, February 10, residents of Henryetta will head to the polls to decide the future of local education with a No Tax Increase bond proposal aimed at improving facilities across Henryetta Public Schools (HPS).

Henryetta has long been recognized as a community that stands firmly behind its schools, students, and educators. That tradition of support has helped create generations of graduates who go on to make meaningful contributions not only in Henryetta, but throughout the region. Through a strong partnership between families, schools, local businesses, and community leaders, HPS students benefit from quality academics paired with diverse extracurricular opportunities.

What the No Tax Increase Bond Would Do

According to school officials, the proposed bond would fund improvements and upgrades to several key HPS facilities without raising local taxes. Planned projects include:

  • Early Childhood facilities

  • Elementary School improvements

  • Middle School upgrades

  • High School renovations

  • Auditorium enhancements

  • Band Room improvements

  • Agricultural (Ag) Building updates

  • Construction of a new Sports Complex for students and community use

If approved, these upgrades would modernize classrooms, enhance learning environments, and expand opportunities for academic, athletic, and community engagement.

Investing in Students and the Community

Supporters of the bond emphasize that the investment goes beyond school walls. Improved facilities are expected to:

  • Create safer, more effective learning spaces

  • Expand extracurricular and athletic opportunities

  • Strengthen community pride and involvement

  • Support long-term economic growth

  • Leave a lasting legacy for future generations

Superintendent Jason Price says the bond represents an opportunity to continue Henryetta’s longstanding commitment to education while preparing students for future success.

“As a voter, you have the right to vote what you believe is best,” Price said. “As you make that decision, please consider those who supported you during your time of schooling. Their sacrifices helped shape who we are today.”

A Community Tradition Continues

For decades, Henryetta residents have rallied behind their schools, recognizing students as the community’s most valuable asset. School leaders say passing the bond would reaffirm that commitment and ensure HPS remains a place where students can thrive academically, creatively, and athletically.

The vote takes place Tuesday, February 10, and all eligible voters are encouraged to participate.
