Allen Dale Been February 3 1956 – May 20 2026
He was born on February 3, 1956, to Wilson and Helen Been. Allen was a member of Shulter
Baptist Church and attended Shulter School, where he was Salutatorian of his senior class.
After high school, he attended East Central University in Ada on a baseball scholarship, then
worked at Anchor Glass until his health caused him to be medically retired.
An avid baseball and softball player and coach, one of the highlights of Allen’s life was
When he attended the Texas Rangers Fantasy Camp, where he was given the opportunity to
played catcher for the Great Nolan Ryan and was awarded camp MVP.
Before his health deteriorated, he would hunt and fish at any given opportunity.
Allen found real freedom on the back of his motorcycle with the wind in his face and his
long-time friend, Caveman (Dave Moore), by his side. Allen also served as the National
President of BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse), helping bring the organization and its
cause to many states and countries.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents, two stepfathers and three stepbrothers.
Left to celebrate his life is Allen’s wife of 44 years, Carol; son Lester Been; granddaughter
Tawne’e Been and significant other Cody Howell; sister Sue Carlton; sister-in-law Theresa
Moore and husband Dave; sister-in-law Darlene Brasier and husband Charles; brother-in-law
In-laws Alice Jo Kindred Jones and John T. and Lavern Doneti.
Nieces Krisi Odom and husband Timothy, Melissa Blankenship and husband Randy, and Cindy
Hodge and nephew Curtis Colton.
Great grandsons Russell William Howell, Jackson Allen Howell, and Elijah Wilson Howell,
whom he adored with his whole heart!
And many cousins, extended family, and a host of friends (especially his motorcycle family).
He will be greatly missed.
Funeral service will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Father Robert Duck officiating. Interment will follow at the Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.
