Nadean Jefferson, a resident of Dewar, died Oct. 4, 2015 in Dewar at the age of 83. She was born May 6, 1932 in Fairfax to Lewis Burdick and Irene James. She retired from Henryetta Public Schools as a bus driver. Nadean was married to Landon Jefferson, Sr. Dec. 2, 1969 in Ft. Smith, Ark., and remained married for 42 years and 8 months until Landon passed away Aug. 25, 2011.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Landon Jefferson, Sr., a son, Glen James and a step son Mark Jefferson.
She is survived by a son Landon Jefferson and wife Karen of Dewar; grandchildren, Whitney and Ashley Jefferson of Dewar; great grandson, Maddix Lucero of Dewar; eight daughters: Judy Chambers and late husband Don Chambers of Tulsa, Mona Clifton and husband Coy of Ponca City, Dorothy Fleharty and husband Tim of Ponca City, Peggy Katra and husband Dave of Emporia, Kans., Beckey Helms and husband Vern of Davenport, Jo Dean and Ken Birdwell of Arkansas City, Kans., Billie Carlson of Ada and Brenda Ferguson and husband Harvey of Rose, Okla.; two sons: Tom James and wife Ann James of Plano, Tex., and Ralph Wayne James of College Station, Tex.; also by other children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; two isters: Mary Lee Scroggins and husband Jim and Hazel McFadden and her late husband Ralph McFadden.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015 at Integrity Chapel with Rev. Duke Britt officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be Mike McCarroll, Lyle Payne, Bub McCarroll, Dick Smith, Ronnell Lewis, and Coy Clifton. Honorary pallbearers are Carol Ritter, Harvey Ferguson, Johnny Lee, Harlen Lee, and Vern Helms.
