Henryetta's Daisy VanMeter added another jewel to her series of state championship accomplishments.
She finished over 30 seconds ahead of second place to capture her third consecutive state  3A cross country title.
daisy runningVanMeter finished the 3200 meter run in 11:39.15 at Gordon Cooper Technology Center in Shawnee. That capped off a successful season including first place wins at the Henryetta cross country in September and the regionals at Nichols Park two weeks ago.
Her winning time was four seconds behind the 11:35.29 she posted a year ago when she was named the 2014 state champ. In 2013, she started her trifecta with a state title, completing the course in 11 minutes, 47 seconds.
None of the other competitors in the Saturday state championships were able to cross the finish line in 11 minutes. From there on, the next 11 places were in the 12 minute range.
Henryetta's Mya Powders was 12th at state with a 12:53.88.
The rest of the Henryetta team ini shed 45th through 119th. They included Kaitlyn Clark, Holly Stuart, Mackenzie Freeman, Caprice Graham and Brianna Counts.
The HHS team had to settle for seventh in the girls team scoring.
This year the closest the Henryetta boys would come to a title was Mason Martin finishing in 28th place. He was followed by Pepper Logan, Jordan Knox, Nick Pak and Garett Witt.
The boys team came in tenth in the overall point count.
