Two Okmulgee women were injured in a crash south of Henryetta Thursday morning.
According to Oklahoma Highway Patrolman Brian Costanza, a 2001 Dodge pickup was northbound on Dustin Road when it went off the north side of the roadway. The driver, Taylor Smith, 24, apparently overcorrected once the vehicle got back on the highway then went off the road again striking a tree.
She was flown to St. John Hospital in Tulsa with internal and leg injuries.
A passenger in the pickup, Jenny Rich, 26, was treated for head and internal injuries at the Henryetta Medical Center.
Trooper Costanza said the two occupants of the vehicle had to be extracted by members of the Henryetta police and fire departments using their extraction tools. He said both victims were using their seat belts at the time of the crash.
