For the first two innings of the game between the Knights and Morris Eagles, it looked like a real defensive match Monday.
IMG 6853The opening game of the 2016 season started slow then a two-run homer by the Eagles in the third started the scoring. By the time the rain-soaked game ended, Morris was the 9-4 winner.
That same inning saw another Eagle runner cross the plate due to the first of nine Henryetta errors.
Morris used a balk by Henryetta for a walk-in rum in the fourth.
The Knights came back in the bottom of the fourth with Bo Adams and Hunter Thomas scoring on RBIs. They would add the final two runs of the game for the Knights in the bottom of the seventh.
Morris scored two more runs on a two-out single in the fifth then a  two-run hit to center field ended the scoring for the Eagles in the seventh.
"We just had some errors at crucial times that hurt us," said coach William George.
The Knights were scheduled to go to Vian Tuesday then host Catoosa Thursday afternoon. Rain canceled the Vian game.
