A drive around Henryetta reveals a lot of damage to trees following the storms that raged this past week.
That has homeowners concerned about where to get rid of the debris since the city no longer allows brush to be dumped at Nichols Park.
"We know a lot of people would just drop off their limbs and brush but there are also others who would bring other trash and we don't have the manpower to handle that," said Ron Casey, Henryetta public works director.
He said the only alternative is for the brush to be burned by the homeowners.
"The fire department will provide burn permits at no charge," he said.
Fire chief David Bullard said firemen will conduct an inspection of where the limbs are to be burned to ensure the fires would not cause any other damage.
Bullard did caution residents that the heat is rapidly drying out vegetation and urged anyone burning their debris to make sure they had sufficient clearance and a source of water close by.
