David G. Farley, a resident of Henryetta, died Aug. 21, 2016 in Tulsa at the age of 70. David was born Feb. 17, 1946 in Henryetta to David Lem Farley and Lula Mae Adams Farley. He grew up in the Henryetta area attending school and Ryal and Graham Public Schools. Following his graduation from Graham High School, David went to work at the Pittsburg Plate Glass Company in Henryetta. He was later drafted into the U.S. Army, where he faithfully served for two years before his honorable discharge in 1967. Following his military service, David returned home to work at the Ammunitions Plant in McAlester. David later went to work for Public Service Company of Oklahoma in 1975. He remained in that capacity for approximately 35 years before his retirement in 2010. David married his high-school sweetheart and the love of his life, Barbara Fowler in Okmulgee July 27, 1966. David and Barbara had just recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
David was a longtime member of the Salem Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father; his brothers, Lloyd Farley and Bill Farley; his sister, Polly Williamson; his granddaughter, Brooklyn Farley; and Penny's daughter Amber.
Survivors include his wife Barbara Farley of the home; sons: David Farley III and wife Penny and Clayton Allen Farley and wife Bethany, all of Henryetta; grandchildren: Calla Farley, Timothy Farley, Julie Farley, Chasidee Farley, Bryce Farley, and Breanna Farley; one great grandchild, Cameron Davis; two sisters: Mary Gressett and Pearl Craft; and three brothers: Floyd Farley and wife Wilma of Cushing, Alvin Farley and wife Linda of Sapulpa, and Marshall Farley and wife Judy of Parma, Michigan; numerous of extended family and many good friends.
Viewing will be Wednesday, August 24, 2016 from 4 until 8 p.m. and Thursday, August 25, 2016 from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. The family will be at the funeral home to meet and greet guests on Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 26, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Salem Baptist Church, south of Henryetta with Rev. Ernie Margworth and Rev. Scott Wolfe officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Salem Cemetery under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army.
Pallbearers will be Justin Farley, Bobbie Farley, Carl Craft, Jason Palmeter, Nathan Storts, and Daniel Storts. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Farley, Billy Todd Farley, Gary Craft, Chris Grissett, Jeffrey Farley, Doug Fowler, Steven Fowler, David Harper, Mark Fowler, and Bradley Fowler.
The family has designated the Beta Sigma Phi Scholarship Fund, benefiting high school seniors with college scholarship money, as appropriate for memorial contributions.
