After a 20-plus hiatus, wrestling is on its way back to Henryetta schools.
kelco donationThe Henryetta Knights Wrestling Club formed last spring and has been in the process of raising money to purchase mats and equipment.
A big boost came this week when CP Kelco in Okmulgee wrote a check for $1,000. That will be added to the funds that have already purchased one wrestling mat with another one still to go. Also needed will be singlets, head gear, wrestling shoes and supplies.
The program is open for children from six years up to 15.
Club members will be holding sign-ups September 13 and 27 at the Henryetta Elementary Gymnasium at 7 p.m. Children in and around the Henryetta area can participate. They do not have to be a student of Henryetta Schools to sign up.
The organization is trying to reach $10,000 and has set up a GoFundMe page. Anyone wishing more information can visit the club's Facebook page:  www.facebook.com/groups/272100073132536.
