The Lady Knights ran their way to third place in the 2A-3A cross country meet in Henryetta Saturday.
They beat out four other schools in the two-mile event with Warner placing first and Little Axe in second.
IMG 0962Mya Powders took 11th place completing the Nichols Park course in just over seven minutes. Behind her were teammates Kaitlyn Clark, 18, Holly Stuart, 20th, Bayleigh Nye 28th, Ashlyn Green, 46th, Emily Smith, 48th and Emma Kranz, 75th.
In the 5K run, HHS boys had to settle for sixth place with only two runners finishing in the top 30 spots. Keaton Lollis was 23rd with a 4:02 time. Right on his heels was Nick Pak who came in 30th with a 4:05.4. Rounding out the Henryetta placings were Jordan Knox, 42nd, Garett Witt, 45th, Kanon Bailey 55th, Joey Watson, 57th and Isaac matlock 58th.
Henryetta's Middle School boys took second in their one-mile run.
A total of 128 runners were in that competition with Austin Green form Henryetta finishing just behind the leader with a 5:14.4.
The rest of the Henryetta field included Alex Hudson, 21st, Trevor King 29th, Nick Hudson, 41st, Jordan Short 47th, Jaxen Wright 51st, Grand Holder 63rd, Blake Wynne 86th, Ethan Goodner 100, Tyler Rogers 109, David Reid 114, Levi Williams 115, Samuel Crow 116, Camden Berryhill 118, Chance Whitfield 122 and Dalton Pemberton 123.
The one mile run for junior high girls wound up with Henryetta in seventh place.
Bailey Worlow was the second place winner in that run followed by Lexi Lollis, 22nd, Neecie Gillian, 78th and Laily Slyconish 95th.
Henryetta coach Tim Gillespie said there were over 700 runners in the junior high through 5A and 6A categories.
Henryetta will be going to Shawnee for the next cross country meet Sept. 17.
