Even though many of the students at Wilson school were not born when the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attack happened, they still paused to honor the victims.
The students gathered around the flagpole Monday morning and raised the flag to half staff in honor of those victims in New York, Washington, D.C. and on board Flight 93.
Sunday evening, a special service was held at the school with Kent Pharaoh performing a tribute on his bagpipes along with members of the Henryetta Nazarene church choir.
First Christian pastor Jerrod Dumond was the guest speaker for the nearly hour-long service.
