After receiving a record-setting sales tax return last month, Henryetta’s September check was slightly lower than the 2015 disbursement.
The September return from the state amounted to $225,282.79. That was $653 less than a year ago and $30,000 below the August amount.
Since January, sales tax returns for the town have amounted to $2,047,546. That is a $99,397 gain over the same nine months in 2015.
The state check back to the city of Dewar in September amounted to $12,370.97, down $225 from a year ago.
By contrast, the city of Okmulgee received $536,378, up $8,000 from a year ago.
Statewide, $137,932,728 in sales tax collections was returned to 514 cities and towns reflecting a decrease of $3,973,029 from the $141,905,757 distributed to 514 cities and towns in September last year.
